A Bible Study

I thought I might take a minute and share this blog-bible study I found recently.  She just started so it’s easy to catch up if you want to read along.  I think there are a total of 3 posts so far, mostly explaining what the study will be about.

She’s covering these verses:

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children,  to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

Titus 2: 3-5

I just recently found this blog, and I’m sure she has no idea who I am. I don’t know who she is either really. This is one of those blogs (I’m ashamed to say) I skim when I read, because if I read what she really says, I may be convicted. *shudder* She speaks right from her heart and alongside the word.  This type of blog makes me nervous.  They tend to make me think about myself, my actions, and my short comings.  It’s stuff I should think about, but like exercising, I don’t like to do it. Can we see a pattern in my life?  It’s time to change that!!

I think this Bible study might be a great starting point.  Feel free to read along with me as I spend time over at By Grace Through Faith

Let me know (and her too!) if you’re choosing to read her study as well.  You know when you go into a room where everyone knows each other but you know no one?  That’s how I feel.  If you go in with me, I’d feel much better.  Thanks.

Enjoy your weekend!

  1. Amanda! Thanks so much for participating in the study and inviting your friends!

First of all...I'm so glad you found the blog. I too was once a teacher, and I STILL love teaching. But with a 2 year old and a 5 month old it's been pretty hard to commit to anything on a regular basis. My husband is a full time student and works full time...so our lives are a little CRAZY. That's how the blog came about...it enables me to read and learn God's word, and then share what I am learning with the readers. I love it!

Titus 2 is a bit of an intimidating passage, but I think it has TONS of helpful information for us women. I too have to swallow hard after reading/thinking about what it says! But- it's God's word! It's inspired, it's useful, and it's life-changing!

Hope to see you and your bloggy friends over at By Grace Through Faith.

    Love,
    Shawna
